What is the deal with the Feed me with anger in Leyla's ending. I have tried feeding it almost every object in the game. I think I have fed it everything except a club, a skeleton key and the dragon armor. Nothing has worked including the couple of items I thought could possibly have something remotely to do with anger (heart for example). What am I missing with this?
Also near by is a snake ornate door I can't open either. I've tried putting gems in the wall dents but none of that has worked.

HAve you attacked the wall angrily?
Posted: Wed Feb 13, 2008 2:39 pm
by Christopher
Yes I have. I've attacked it with several melee style weapon including all the uniques I have. Berzerk had no effect, cerebus had no effect, spells had no effect; with all my frustration, I wouldn't describe myself as attacking it happily.

Including vorpal weapons? Can't remember this section myself so it might be new

Yes indeed. I used the vampiric vorpal blade, and the backbone vorpal blade.

Have you tried a knuckle sandwich? (I have no idea whether it will work, I never solved this riddle.)
Also, spitter berries? Chewer pods?
EDIT: Fireball to the face? I have to dig up my old savegame and try that one again. But it's a very frustrating riddle, in a very frustrating-to-access part of the dungeon, with all the arbitrarily closing doors...

Tried all the attack spells, and food items. I don't remember if I tried my bare hands and feet though. This and the unopened double snake ornate door is probably the reason why I haven't solved this ending yet.

In the crypt level, all the portraits that take a bag of bones, one keeps taking them, is there any reason for this or not?

Sounds like a bug

I've been wondering this for ages, so I'll just come right out and ask, what is the view spell? I haven't found it, or I did and forgot, probably the latter.

The Guardian - i put an emerald key in the lock but nothing happens

Posted: Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:37 pm
by beowuuf
It would have - but it's not enough. Imagining thinking there was only one lock! Zyx is not that kind when there is only a beefed up invisible golem to deal with. You'll need to reveal another I am afraid!

Whoops sorry, by View spell, I meant the Window spell which lets you see through walls.

1,2,3 - the correct order.

I thought the view spell was about the same as before
You certainly get it around the temple, as you can then use it there for a humourous interaction somewhere

gave up on The Guardian - looked everywhere and could only find the three levers in the room! had a bit of a food shortage (the rats seem to be running out

) so made my way to the chewer area (the coridoor and room that seems to teleport you from one to the other - accessable once you solve the blue hazes) - what's going on with that door with the pressure plate behind and whenever you throw a rock on it it appears next to you? how do i open this door?

by beowuuf
When you reveal one keyhole, i believe you close off the other....
If you are talking about the door i think you are talking about then either a) small details hide great rewards, or b) if there is just a wall beyond, then zyx has set up a safety device so you don't throw anything important through it. Try opening the door another way - if your had leif he'd tell you how

hmm still couldnt figure it out - i have Leif and he didnt say anything when i stood near it. the door im talking about is an iron grate thats tucked away in the chewer tree spawn coridoor behind a blue haze puzzle - also here are Master Giggler, a hidden wall with a corbum on an altar, two small identical rooms which you can invisibly teleport between, and some hidden stairs down to Door of Answers (which i haven't solved yet!). hope this helps.
had a go at the path of heraclitus bit with the pit in the centre of the room that says have faith dont stare in. ive tried backing across quickly but it still opened on me

is there a trick here? also next to this room is path of dadelus and a closed wooden door with no apparent way of opening it.

I know the area, there are just four puzzles (one either aide of each corridor
There is the giggler master which is a straightforward fight
There is an iron grate on it's own, which any fighter of strong person should be able to solve
There is a set of small corridors behind a grate - those you through rocks through the grates to open the areas up - you need to find a 'small detail' so you can complete it
The four is the test of wisdom
There is no real trick to the pit on the temple, it's just a fun feature - you just need to go down it to continue on the path of wisdom
Some of the doros in the temple open fro mthe opposite side, some have keyholes or buttons closeby

thanks beowuuf i found the 'small detail'! very small detail! so i got the open door spell and a shuriken (and even MORE robes! im getting the hint i may need to be wearing these robes some time in the future!) the only other puzzle is the pressure plate coridoor leading to the pit. not played with this one yet. just thankful of the infinite food!!!

ok... Energic Water - why is this special? ive killed the Emerald Guardians but im struggling to fight my way through the grey demons in the disappearing wall! do i just have to fight?
Mischievous bag - what does this spell do? an empty bag seems to be the component but nothing happens?
ive killed the Gold Golem and all i get is a scroll and the components - ive left the silver and copper golems. is there any point to these, except for the coins?
finally done the MIPS bit!
and what's the Door of Answers???
love the 'be a cloud master' puzzle! very cool! is there any point to the wall imediately behind the door next to this?

waters - you can use it to energise something a little off colour
wall - you need to keep backing off to open the wall then fight through quickly to beyond before it closes again. Unless somehting has changed, there is one one item in there to get, and it might not be worth it.
the bag has different effects at different powers. Nothing earth shattering, but the basic items are sometimes useful
golems - no, those golems are just a bit of fun really...coins are good for the coin slot area later though
MIPS - well done! Important item that one you got, can make the council level much easier to complete instead of a catch 22 situation!
door of answers is the reward for the fountain of ignorance
wall - yes, it is sealing off that room unless you come at it from the other side - then you get a short cut link between the two areas
Well done, sounds liek you are getting far!

Conflux III simply is -it-.
Has anyone mentioned that before?
I started with 4 chars from the initial guids, but ended in Smaugs Lair, realizing that my party is just too lame. Then restarted and wanted to pick the chars from the crypt (I tried for hours to do this while still being a ghost, but ended up in a solorun with Leif), finding out (the hard way) that the mirrors are just for decoration. Anyway, I payed Smaug a visit (I had feed in bandages all the way, no flask to heal and still I felt the urge need to show them to him

), coming back with alot of nice items and the funeral Waraxe (wondering no big boss is guarding this item).
While everything was fine with my initial party, I encountered some strange things while dungeoning solo:
I stuffed some armour and weapons for Halk at the entrance of the fighter guilt. Later I returned and the items were surrounded by a whole bunch of clubs. I'm sure I havn't put them there, giving me a strange kinda scary feeling.
In Moria (in an erea where you could drop into a pit with a teleporter leading back to the crypt... very welcome as I was starving at that point) I was -attacked- (and killed) by a invisible Giggler! He was easy to kill first, but quickly respawned, some time being invisible, then visible again and randomly attacking. He didn't make the giggle noice when doing so, but the one the ogres (?) make, so I think this must be intentional?
I have more questions, but I'm sure they all are answered in this thread. I've spoiled too much already by reading this, even when trying to do it stricly (keeping a hand leveled at the eyebrows

) using a keyword, then browsing the pages for the highlighted word.
Anyway:
what is the funeral thorn good for? An ethernal toothpick for MOPHUS?
greets

The mirrors in the crypt aren't there for deoration, they are just much older and so need something additional to activate. If you look around the background of the crypt you can get a shortcut to activating them en masse, but also a clue to individually activating the ones you want
Halk armour - sounds like trolins appearing where they cannot exist and being fragged (only certain monsters are allowed on certain levels)

you're kidding, right?
Next you tell me the mosaics in the temple are chars too.
Aaaarghh... I'll find out. I guess the guilt leaders are a better choice anyway?
Just one more mace and I'll have Halk in my party.
I love this game!

Heh, the mosiacis aren't...well, not yet, now, but you've given zyx ideas....
Funnily, depending o nthe intensity of play, the guild leaders might be your weakest party member!
THe crypt characters aren't too bad, last time I played they had no special abilities though

The DMwiki is begging for this kind of information
that can be found without searching/reading through
twenty-five pages of random entries (in this thread
alone!).

And I promise I'll get to adding my voice!
I playtested an RTC dungeon and yesterday copied and pasted the whole missing section of the DM choose your own adventure - I'll get to conflux I swear!
