DM2 Monster animated attacks / movement

Post by Gambit37 »

DM2 had quite a number of frames of animation for the creatures, especially their attack animations (sometimes 6 or 7 frames). It would be cool to add this flexibility to the core engine. It does make things a lot more complicated though....

Also in DM2, monsters are not restricted to moving one square at a time - they can walk across the boundaries of tiles which makes movement look far more realistic. Possible in the clone?

Re: More frames for monsters / freer movement

Not the way it's currently writted. Things are strictly based on tiles not parts of tiles so movement across wouldn't work.

It could be written differently though...

It would be the artists to vote for such a thing eh?
