Multiple objects/items on same tile - confusing behaviour.

Post by Gambit37 »

If you read this thread, you'll see that I was trying to create a switch inside an alcove, without much success:

I then decided to try and create it a much simpler way, by simply placing a switch on the same tile as the alcove, offset slightly so it appears to be inside. This works much better: You can place and remove objects in the alcove, and the switch behaves independently. However, the opposite isn't true. If you click the switch with an object in hand, the object is placed in the alcove, and if you click the switch with an object in the alcove, the object 'snaps' into your hand.

I wonder if you have any plans to modify this behaviour? I have loads of cool ideas for puzzles, but none of them will be possible with this current restriction. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts! :)

of course if george does narrow down the active areas of things like alcoves and switches and items, we'll complain about that too!

Unless there is another option, that would be the only way to restrict this problem, right?
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!
