Death Row

Post by Lunever »

RTC V0.24: CSB:
When you enter the Death Row in Ros through the pit at Enc. z02/x14/y09 the door opens only a few seconds after arriving in the Death Row. But it should take a loong time before the door finally opens (Gambit, can you tell how long exactly?)!

I can tell you how long the delay is: nothing!

There is no timer attached to this function. What happens is that when you land inside the room, you trigger an invisible switch that switches off a teleporter outside the room. The teleporter is keeping the golem in place, so once it's switched off he's free to move around. When he steps forward, he activates an invisible pad that opens the door and teleports the bread and water into the room.

So the timing is based puely on the monster AI. In FTL CSB, monsters take ages to move if they haven't seen you yet, but this is quite different in RTC which is why the door opens much more quickly.

Yes, but this spoils that puzzle and the hint oracle's comment. So to better emulate FTL-CSB behaviour here I think there should be a delay in RTC.
