Here's a few other strange bugs, all which happened at the staircase just before you meet Chaos. I didn't try this on other stairs, so don't know if this is unique to these stairs:
1) Major: Threw an empty flask at the bottom of the stairs, and heard the dink of it landing, but it completely disappeared. Tried this again with other flasks and they landed on the floor as expected.
2) Major: Made a Zo Ven bomb and threw it at the bottom of the stairs. It exploded as expected (but no sound effect), and then a static dragon appeared in front of the stairs offset to one side! Did not attack or anything, and disappeared if I threw anything at it or stepped back onto the 'Bwahhaa' invisible pad (which incidentally still clicks even after being activated the first time).
3) Minor: Objects thrown down the stairs appeared on the floor below on the opposite side.
4) Minor: Still no quick keys implemented (even though the previous request for this was moved to the Fixes forum). Ctrl + Q should quit to the credits scroll and Ctrl + S should bring up the Save dialog.

Zo Ven Stair Bug
I tried experimenting with different versios of RTC to see what happened withe the Zo Ven Stair Bug (see above). In version 0.04 and 0.05, the game crashes as son as the the flask enters the stair space.
I can confirm that in v0.06, the exisiting bug is repeatable at the stairs by the firestaff. If you travel to the stairs leading up to the Hall of Champions, something similar happens but is far more fun. The Dragon appears, but you can throw objects at him and they stop on that tile, and the Dragon doesn't disappear. This at least proves that objects are drawn correctly at all sides, even when following the parabolic arc. Take a look:
