RTC0.10 lev.01 "To close pit leave a valuable"
In DM it was sufficient to throw anything to the teleporter. Now it's impossible to close this pit.
Re: RTC0.10 lev.01 "To close pit leave a valuable"
I threw an object into the teleporter and the pit didn't close. I laid an object down and it closed.

...leave valuable
I think that even in the original DM, throwing an item wouldn't close the pit; You have always had to place something on the floor.

Throwing the valuable should teleport it so it hits the wall and falls onto the pad

I was going to say that only droping it (not throwing) was the only solution in the original DM but I went in and played ... throwing it worked. So in the PC DM at least throwing as well as droping it works. I think there may be a problem with things hiting the wall and landing on a pad (this might also explain the cast your might puzzle problem).

You're brilliant! That could well be it...for the 'time is of the essence' every item hit the wall, and the pit didn't trigger...i remember checking to see if falling short items activated the pad on the 'cast your influence', but a few went further and triggered so i thought 'no, not that'. But i'm sure the ones that went further and activated didn't hit the wall...
Hmm...I have a saved game there so I'll have to try it soon

Just to semi-confirm, I've tried this on the 'cast..' and 'time..' pads with strong and weak characters throwing heavy and light objects, and it does seem to be that anything that hits the wall and falls on the pad doesn't trigger it now. I got the 'time...' pad to trigger by throwing a screamer slice that this time fell short!
So nice catch amaprotu! : )
