Level Downgrade

Post by Lunever »

I just noticed, that the levels and stats of my party have been reduced when I was taking them from RTC-DM to CSB.
I do not know anymore how this was in FTL, but I cannot remember a party downgrade in FTL.

It happened when characters were selected for reincarnation in CSB, don't know if it happened wth party porting...but cool : )
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

I do not yet know wether it is cool or not. That depends how that downgrade is calculated.
George, can you tell me how the party is downgraded?

Actually, wouldn't it be more fun to retain the Level and play CSB in expert mode with tougher and faster monsters, like when you enter the DM dungeon with overpowered characters?
The Dragon Den could get quite hard then...

Are you absolutely sure that the characters stats (rather than just the numbers shown) are being reduced?

Remember that parties often are carrying magical objects that boost their displayed (and effective) levels and stats and that when importing them these items will be stripped from them. Under these circumstances then the characters intrinsic stats will be unchanged, but they will appear to be weaker...

To answer the other comments, no reduction should be taking place! That's the whole point of making the dungeon harder for stronger characters - so that you can keep using them but still have a challenge!

I know all the boosting objects and already subtracted them, but I will check again.
The Levels were certainly reduced (in addition to loosing the firestaff and the pendant feral), ALL characters lost at least 1 level in all classes or even two. I will check it and post what exactly the loss of each character was.
