Replacing graphics for stairs

Post by Gambit37 »

How does one replace the graphics for stairs? There's too many variations of images for a standard definition; is it something special that we can't override by cloning?

Besides: When looking through a wall with OhEwRa at stairs from the side, they look the same as if standing in front of them. They should have a sepearate graphic for that.

Well, FTL DM had the same bug so you could argue that RTC is an exact clone in that respect! It might be possible to do this by extending the graphics for the side view of stairs, but George would need to modify the drawing code so that if you've viewing the stairs using Magic Window it displays a side view graphic (rather than a front view which is what the engine would normally expect to display at that location/orientation).

George, further to my post above, the only way that I can see of doing this is that you must have combined multiple images on the same bitmap for this unique item? Unless there's some other bitmap parameter for stairs that I'm unaware of?

Actually, DM showed no graphics at all for sideways stairs and doors
With RTC at least you dont have to rememebr which way the corridor goes for placement of thigns liek this! : )
