bug?

Post by M. Null »

I played this game on the ST when it first came out and am so happy to rediscover it... still an excelent game. I am emulating the ST version with the STEEM emulator. The problem is that apparently at random all of my characters scream the death scream and die one after the other... making me obsessive about saving and very frustrated when I forget to save... any thoughts... I don't remember this being part of the orginal game but I was only 10 at the time so who knows. Thanks in advance.

Apparently this was part of a sophisticated copy-protection on some versions of the game - you could copy and play it OK, but then it would zap your party at some random point though.

However, nobody has ever confirmed that this is what happens... perhaps it *is* a bug....

I remember that problem when I was playing on an actual Atari. This was only happening in few first levels and seems to be an Atari-only story. All I can say about that is that saving regulary would ... save you.

I have the original disk for Dungeon Master on the amiga, and I came across a friend who had a copied version. It seemed to work fine, but upon reaching the 3rd floor, all party members died without reason. I suspect it is therefore not a bug.

I remember tryign to copy my original amiuga disk just because i was worried abotu it getting damaged, but it would never allow loading up of the game at all
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!
