Yay, I have a working version of the game now. :)
Does the Illumulet run out after wearing it too long? Do the Ekkhard Cross and Gem of Ages do anything?
Which skill should I build up with a character who loses stamina too easily (Wu Tse)? Right now, she's a very high level priest because I have to make stamina potions so often. If I knew what trait to increase, I could make potions to boost it...
Is there a list of monsters which can be frightened by things like the Horn of Fear, War Cry, and Brandish? I don't think it has to do with your relative level to the monster, since Couatls run away (from Brandish) but Screamers do not (from horn of fear).
I have a ton of blue magic boxes which I'm carting around. So far, I haven't felt very threatened by many enemies on floors 1-4. Should I keep them around (are there going to be some really tough guys soon?) or discard some since I will be getting green boxes soon? I am carrying practically no food anymore since there doesn't seem to be a purpose with the limited carrying capacity of only two characters.

Re: questions (through level 5)
The Illumulet does wear of, but it isn't that useful because it only ensures a certain minimum of light which is not much. Wearing 2 Illumulets will not give more light than wearing one.
The Ekkhard Cross increases an internal (and invisible to the player) priest skill of the character wearing it, the Gem of the Ages does likewise with the internal wizard skill. There are some staffs who do so also, there was a thread about that some time ago on this site (or the CSB forum, don't know, just look around if you'd like to know exactly).
Screamers can be scared very well (most monsters can, although I have no list. Some monsters seem to resistant, like pain rats). The effectivity of scaring is some combination of warrior and primarily priest levels of the character doing it, I believe.
In DM I used magical boxes sometimes on the Golems guarding the firestaff, on the last Fader and in RTC on Demons (In original FTL-DM they were not affected I think, but I don't know exactly anymore).

SORRY! TYPO! The Illumulet does NOT wear off.

I have noticed that stamina drain seems to be proportional to the character's vitality ie low vitality the quicker the stamina goes. This is easily demonstrated if you take Hissssa or Darouu and compare to say Leif. So you could try casting vitality spells on Wu Tse, or getting her to fight to increase skills. Good tip is to find a screamer on the worms, or them two fellows with the snakes and war cry it for ten minutes. Boring but you'll get a stack of levels.
Coutls are the easiest of all to frighten and if you do meet any they are very easy to fight because of this. The Dragon and Chaos are also easily frightened, as are ghosts and water elementals. Skeletons and mummies are a little harder, while scorpions rats and demons don't live long enough for me to find out... Not sure about worms, but Rusters and Vexirks are certainly vulnerable as are poison tentacle thingies, beholders and insubstantial triffids (this is the name ST Action used to call faders!). Demons seem immune. As for gigglers, who cares? Fire a low power des ven at them and they die instantly, this works better than fireballs.
I agree with Lunever, use them on the Golems. You may need one when you get the Vorpal blade on the next level, or against the knights if you get trapped. Also useful in the Scorpion level, I find this level hardest of all.
Quite a brave decision to have Wu Tse in a tandem effort, I always go for characters with high strength, dexterity and vitality.

Re: questions (through level 5)
You don't need a box for a vorpal blade, both Vorpals are easy to obtain (at least if you know where the triggers for the monster generators are).

Re: questions (through level 5)
Yeah that's true... though you don't need any at all if you're good enough, like light ;~)
Re: questions (through level 5)
Um, well, of course there is not much you really need. Yet the Vorpal blades are very useful.
