Formatting under WinUAE 0.8.22r5

I'm playing Dungeon Master v2.0 on the latest release of WinUAE. Version 0.8.22 release 5. Since when did the formatting option break on WinUAE? I tried it today using this latest release and it appears to format the disk I insert. However when I try to save the game to that formatted disk all I get is "Unable to read disk" or something like that. It does seem to be buggered. I've not tried the formatting option using version 3.6 of DM. I guess it's also broken. I'm a WinUAE beta tester so I'll try and get this bug fixed.
