CSBuild Version 0.775

Post by Paul Stevens »

CSBuild Version 0.775 is at
webpages.charter.net/pstevens1

Changes:
--Check for Enhanced And/Or Options. In case you
accidentally used the 'unused' bits.
--List item required to trigger actuator in dynamic
cell-contents-list on right side of map.
--Disallow insert of door or teleporter.
--Renamed DSA editing functions to be less confusing.
--Editing options allows illegal pits.
--Added some missing toolbar hints.
--Added ability to dump warnings to a file.
--Editing options allow 'non-important' objects.
--Changed column heading in 'Count Objects'.
--Attempt to fix problem with large font on map.
Please let me know if it helped.
--Editing options allow orphaned objects.

Things requested but not changed:
--Go directly to edit when chests or scrolls are
selected in the radio buttons in the 'Insert Object'
dialog. I am not going to do this. It breaks
the usual meaning of radio buttons...they are
supposed to choose among alternatives, not initiate
actions. The 'OK' button says "I want to do this".

Things still in my list:
--Massive numbers of 'duplicate object' messages.
We have to come to a consensus as to what is
a reasonable way to handle this
--Deleting 'Orphaned' objects. They are not of
great concern but they do make the dungeon ugly.
I will get to this soon.

So now you can tell me what I have fogotten.

i will work on my dungeon asap :)
the improvements sound very useful, when ignoring the orphans, i could finish debugging.

Is it me or did you forgot to upload the latest version?

I do appear to have omitted one important step
in the release process. It is there now.

A suggestion about the orphaned objects:
Maybe a way to display them, remove them and integrate them in the dungeon would be to add a "virtual level", level 16 in CSBuild: each cell of this level would contain an orphaned object. You can only delete, view, or cut and paste these objects. The level would not be saved, only the remaining orphans object.

Yes it worked, thanks!

However I couldn't help noticing that several windows with fixed borders are slightly too small.
Namely, the "Edit character window" and "Choose Target window".
