I put a Version 9.51f at:

bahamas.globat.com/~dianneAndPaul.net

It repairs a crash in the "Misc|Items Remaining" when
a Screamer is carrying a Rock Monster. Thanks to
PitD; who else would do this?

Well, it seems you didn't waste your time this week end !

I tested the AntiFire/Magic version, and I think that the gameplay is not too changed. It seems OK to me.

I agree with your choice on the "looting champions" theme.

I wonder what are the differences between CSB and DM rules ?
If it is just for reincarnation, I propose you another way to deal with it :
Check the total (main) skills levels and compare with a cutoff value (7 will work) to decide which rule to use.

LOL! Such a bug report could have been an april's joke !

"Check the total (main) skills levels and compare with a cutoff value (7 will work) to decide which rule to use."
You have to think about custom dungeons too. Is it the way you would like it?

Glad you liked my monster packages ;) Just used it when Paul first introduced chesting monsters in CSBuild and kept it in the entrance of level 1 of my test dungeon ever since.

> cutoff value...

A well defined rule, explained somewhere in CSBuild, seems (to me) a better idea than letting people which rule to use.
Beginners have really less than 10 levels. I think CSB champions have at least 20 levels (by memory, I should check what I'm saying...). So I think ambiguous status (begginer or experimented ?) seems not to be too much a problem.
You can also decide to use total subskills level to decide the status of a champion (easy, just read the letters describing the skills in the text).

Finally, you can also propose a system that decide to use DM rule until a given level, and have more and more 'hard' rule as level rises up, until you reach CSB rules. All you have to do to decide the rules is being sure it match the ones used with DM/CSB champions. It seems to me that this is too much work for the benefit we get.

Or, as people propose add informations to the dungeon.dat file, you could add a flag to decide which rule to use. I personnally do not like that idea of changing the (not totally understood) dungeon.dat.
