Theowand offers the so called spellshield action (provided, you are around apprentice priest and haven´t de-charged it entirely);

when you use this slot /spellshield/ It generates a bright blue frame around the characters, with slightly different spacings than the other magic
which are a dark blue shield and a green one , the fireshield.
the casting Runes i don´t know atm, because of conflux2 maybe....

what is this spellshield? It seems to be different from the other shieldspells.

If I remember correctly.

normal shield increases your armour and can be cast as a spell
fireshield increases your fire-resistance (also spell)
spellshield increases your magic resistance, and can only be cast with the teowand

Talking of wands, what does 'Calm' do? I tried it a few times but it didn't seem to do anything. Maybe it's like war cry?

Yup.

Confuse, brandish, calm, war cry, horn of fear -- these are all pacifying attacks. Not sure the major differences though, and have never been able to find out.

you know with the advanced abilities to RTC one could perhaps suggest some adjustments to how they work. I mean we can have more advanced behavioural algorythms when it comes character player interaction. GG has already advanced this with their ability to ambush or to run when wounded.

Currently I've no real ideas as to what enhancements could or should be made to these.

The main difference is the effectiveness of each of the actions to influence or frighten a monster
(it turns and runs away; in some cases it runs until you attack it, in other cases it can be attacked without breaking the influence;? maybe action/ creature/skill dependant?).., increasing from calm to brandish.

You can use blow horn immediately without having priest skill like warcry on a creature and of course the calm action of a wand or similar..

for brandish you have to be a trained priest in order to being able to use it.
(like casting e.g. mon vi)

he horn of fear is better than warcry and calm i think.(later found/accessible)
I wonder which creature has such horn(s)..

Really strange that you cannot reproduce an Anti magic shield .
makes ´Jewel Symal more important...
