GAME : Shooting with crossbow without ammo in hand
In amiga version, if there is ammo in the quiver but not in the free hand, auto"reloading" happened - arrow was placed in free hand. In RTC v0.28 it doesnt, have to manually move arrow to the free hand.
Defenetly not a major issue, but i liked the auto better
- its faster to shoot twice than opening inventory and move 1 item on 2 chars (speedbow and crossbow my mages carry in backrow)

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

I don't quite understand this.
I believe that when you shoot an arrow, if there is one in the quiver, then it reloads it into the (now) free hand so that the bow is ready to shoot again. Same thing applies for ranged weapons (throwing stars, daggers, rocks etc). Isn't this what is meant to happen, or do you mean something else?
If there's a problem, just let me know and I'll fix it!

It'd be nice if you had an option that you could toggle on and off on the character screen (or, failing that, in the config), though, whereby either hand would automatically reload if emptied for some reason and something appropriate was in the quiver. It'd make arrow-collecting marginally less of a bore than it is, and would be handy if you got ripped off by a giggler while fighting something.

What, you've never played through the whole of CSB with a single, one-legged character, wielding only a crossbow? In the dark? While you, the player, have one foot sealed into a container full of already fairly annoyed wasps that are being played "The Essential Barbera Streisand" over and over again?

Well, in good old Amiga I think auto-reloading to the off-hand happened when you had ammunition in the quiver left, immediately after shooting/throwing a ranged weapon via the attack menu. Unfortunately it does this by using the first quiver slot first, so when you throw a dagger and have 3 more daggers and 1 sword in the quiver it ignores the 3 daggers and auto-draws the sword. I always have been wishing to improve that behaviour to ranged-weapons-first.

yeah no kidding.. that was either short sightedness or a bug. Quickdraw should jump to the remaining smaller bits in the quiver first rather than the "sheath" part which is the only slot able to carry things like swords and clubs etc.
Anyway, yes as long as you had an arrow in hand and then 1-4 more in the quickdraw area (quiver) then it would "reload" your crossbow/speedbow
