EDITOR: Create a backup when saving.

Post by L!ghthouse »

Sometimes when I save the game, the editor crashes (durring save), this causes only a partial txt file to be created. I loose all of the information that that comes after a certain point in the txt file (usually somewhere in [Items]). The only thing that you can do is to start over again.

A quick fix for this would be to have the editor create an automatic backup after it has successfully saved the first file. If the editor crashes while saving to the first file, you will still have your backup to be able to revert back to so that you don't loose All of your work.

(Currently, I make backups by hand just in case this happens again.)

What is the possibility of having this feature added to the editor?

Now done for V0.33 (but I'd still like to know what the original crash was please!)

I could never exactly replicate the problem, it seemed to happen at random after I cut and pasted a few dungeon triggers, and teleporters (I don't know if that helps...).

Not really :-(

At least now there'll be a backup of the file so it'll be easier to reproduce!
