What does "ignored" keyword do to armor?

Post by Without Remorse »

Armor Strength: The armor value (0..200) associated with the item. Some items (Shields) have the "Ignored" keyword, meaning that the item's Armor Strength will be ignored when calculating armor.
Does this mean that a shield doesn't contribute to a character's defense if it's equipped? I don't really understand what it means.

As I understand it, shields have a chance of outright deflecting a blow, but they don't count towards armor when calculating damage on a successful blow. Maybe Paul will give us more insight.

Maybe they block some attacks when you have them in your right hand but not in your left?

The thing to do would be to create a dungeon with a creature or shooter doing constant damage, and you try the shield in various positions to see the varience

Not me, i'm going to bed : )

good news then, holding that shield in your left hand does do something! bad news...stop walking around holding the plate of darc unless you want to hit critters on the head with it
whcih i think you should be able to do, come on, it must be really heavy with sharp edges
