Could an answer to that be, when it's a magic spell? or is it definatly when it's an illusion?

Hello :)

Hmmm... believe me, you can trust people with red hair and wonderful moustache, they always tell the truth. O:)
And don't worry, you won't damage the WALL... ^^

That I agree with!

Oh, and there may be more walls like this. So don the steel helm, headbutt a few walls and get treasure hunting!

Heh, I'm asking if "when it's an illusion" is the actual answer// if there is even an actual answer to it.

Hello again, :)

Hmmm... The answer was given by PaulH. ^^
When you are facing the message "when is rock not rock", just take a step on your left, then one step just in front of you (into the wall, which is "just an illusion"). You will then go "through" the WALL. :)

Yeah, it is - "When is rock not rock?". Well, when it looks like rock, but actually isn't. Ie, when it's an illusion :).

Actually, there were two versions of the wording. In earlier versions it was "When is a rock not a rock?" but it confused so many people that FTL later changed it to "When is rock not rock?".

People were getting stuck because they were thinking 'a rock' is something small, whereas 'rock' generally suggests something larger like a wall...
