Downloading Atari ST versions onto a PC disk

Post by Penneth Karm »

Hello.
Could you tell me how I go about downloading the Atari ST version of this game onto my pc whilst maintaining it in such a form that my Atari can read the disk.
I have tried to download the game but my pc will not write to an unformatted disk or a disk formatted on another system.
Can anyone help or do I have to buy the ST version on ebay.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Take care
Pete

I don't think it's possible to write an ST disk on a PC system. I was an Amiga child, and a PC definitely can't write an Amiga disk with native hardware. Maybe the ST disk format is different though.

Any of you ST fans out there know any better?

I know it's possible to write an AMIGA disk on a PC with specialy customisied AMIGA external FDD drive connected via LPT port. I dunno if it's possible with ATARI

Best to ask people on Atari ST emulation sites about this.

yes, it's possible to write an ST disk with a PC

download this soft :
http://emulatari.free.fr/zip/wfdcopy-1.03.zip

i use it on WIN 98 SE, with a PC disk formated with 720 k (you have to hide the second hole with tape).

run wfdcopy, click on the "file to disk" button and chose the file you want to write, for example "dm.st" or "dm.msa", and go !

don't forget to go to :
http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_ ... ame_id=978

you can choose the french, german or english version.
these versions are totally functionnal

there is also some custom dungeons, for example :
http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_ ... me_id=5603
that we made using thes files extrated by Gambit

Have fun !

Thank you all very much. I have a version of dungeon master on the pc but recently I have managed to get hold of an Atari ST and the original version of DM. I will bear in mind all your tips though. Thanks once again.

pull donw menu above
I cannot find this menu. I see 'faq' , 'profile', ...
'topic', 'reply'.

At any rate, PC DM is available from

http://dmweb.free.fr

Get CSBwin. It is the best.

Hmm, you can't see the quick links menu above that?

The quick-links dropdown is built using Javascript, so if it's disabled you won't see it.

If I change my 'Board Style' in my profile to
Codex-dark (or something like that) then I see
the quick links. If I change it back to
'Silver' (or something like that) then I don't see
the quick links.

Yes, the default setting show the Dropdown Menu.
I seem to have chosen the only style without the menu.
