Teleporting from alcove

Post by Chaos Awakes »

In the RTC editor, how do I create a wall alcove that teleports anything placed into it to another location?

It won't let me place a teleport on the same square as a wall, so I can't work out how to do it. I can do it in Java Dungeon master - that doesn't place any restrictions on me against having teleports on walls.

The editor doesn't let you place teleporters on walls, but the game engine *does* allow it, albeit with a warning.

The only way to do this at present is by manually adding the teleporter into the text file using a text-editor.

I think I raised this as a request in the past -- give the editor an "advanced" mode that allows "silly" things...

As Gambit says - you'll have to do this with a text editor.

Removing the warning and allowing you to add the teleoporter in the editor are two of the many items on my long list of things to do...

Actually you can add teleport to the movable wall and then add alcove to it. As far as I remember you must save and reload your project to be able to add alcove to the movable wall.
