[Done for V0.39] Support for large capacity containers

Post by George Gilbert »

By default, chests have a capacity of exactly 8 items. For V0.39, i've added a new "capacity" parameter to allow you to specify exactly what the maximum number of items a chest can contain.

If the maximum is 8, then they are placed in the 8 slot positions as used by the default chest (of course, you can change the graphic as shown in the new objects example dungeon for the quiver).

If the maximum is not 8, then items can be placed anywhere in that view area of the characters backpack screen (and the engine will remember where).

This will allow you to create a pretty close approximation to the DM2 coin box, by setting the capacity to a suitably large value and the container type to "valuables" (i.e. coins and gems). You'll then be able to place loads of your currency into the coin box (sorting them into areas and generally keeping it tidy will be the players responsibility though!).

Of course there are plenty of other examples (huge quivers, guns with lots of bullets etc) that this can be used for.
