Inactive State for Secrets

Post by Soaponarope »

Since tallying secrets seems to be limited to a floor trigger, there doesn't seem to be a way to tally secrets that don't involve finding a new area. Most of mine don't, as they involve things like monster or placeable manipulation.

However if I could make the secrets inactive until something else happens, it's no problem, but there doesn't seem to be a state for the secret tiles either. Anyone done anything with this?

Easy. I do this in my dungeon. Stick your secret flooritem somewhere inaccessible -- then target it with an ACTIVATE trigger of any type -- this invokes the secret. You can do the same for END GAME pads too.

I am surprised and glad to hear this works. I did not think to try it since the secret tile had no states to toggle. Thanks, now I will have a long list of secrets. :)

Whoa! Had I known this, Doom Blade would have had a LOT more secrets in it... I, too, am surprised that this actually works, would never have thought of it.

It works really well :) I only found it by experimenting, I didn't know it would work.

You could release a bug fix or something which includes more secrets :)

This behavior used to be a bug, but it was so useful George left it in. :P
