Spanish Translation Project for Dungeon Master II

Post by scorpio »

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share that I am currently working on a Spanish translation of *Dungeon Master II: The Legend of Skullkeep*. My goal is to make this classic game more accessible to Spanish-speaking players who love the Dungeon Master series.

The project is still in progress, but I thought it would be nice to inform the community here. If anyone is interested, I can post updates and maybe share some screenshots once I have more progress.

If you have any advice, tools, or tips that could help with the translation process, I would be very grateful!

As a first step, I’ve modified the `GRAPHICS.DAT` file to include translated interface elements and in-game texts. If you’d like to try it out, you can download it here:

🔗 https://mega.nz/file/Z89ySbKC#o6b4oP_8V ... ZkH-mxo7gM

📁 File: GRAPHICS.DAT (8.24 MB)
📄 Contents: Spanish translation of interface and game texts
⚠️ Note: This is not a full game, just the modified data file. You’ll need your own copy of Dungeon Master II to use it.

Nice, thank you for doing this, what a great gift to all Spanish speaking DM fans!
I was wondering if you could use a different service instead of Imgur to host your images? UK users can no longer view anything linked on there, they disabled all UK access due to our new privacy laws :(

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ve updated all the image URLs to a different hosting service, so UK users should be able to see them now.

Great job! I'll add your project on the DM Encyclopaedia in the next update.

There is a Spanish fan translation of the original Dungeon Master at http://dmweb.free.fr/games/dungeon-mast ... #downloads

If you ever want to translate Dungeon Master Nexus, you can use the kit here: http://dmweb.free.fr/community/tools/du ... ation-kit/

Thank you very much for your support and for adding my project to the DM Encyclopaedia!

I’m definitely interested in working on a Spanish translation of Dungeon Master Nexus in the future, especially with the translation kit you mentioned. For now, I’m focused on finishing the Spanish translation of Dungeon Master II for the Commodore Amiga version.

Once that project is completed, I’ll be glad to start with Nexus.

Hi Christophe,

Thanks for the pointers and the Nexus translation kit page. I’m running through the “Create a new translation” section, but I think there’s a broken reference there:

The step that mentions “Original BIN/CUE disc image of Dungeon Master Nexus for Sega Saturn made by redump.org in C:\DMNTranslationKit\Output” doesn’t provide a working link. It looks like a placeholder path rather than a downloadable source, so I’m not sure where the image is expected to come from.

Could you clarify:

Where should we legally obtain the original BIN/CUE for testing?

Is “C:\DMNTranslationKit\Output” just the local folder where we should place an already acquired image, or is there a missing link on the page?

Once I have the correct source/location, I’ll continue and share feedback. Thanks again for maintaining these resources!

The link to archive.org is indeed broken, but you don't need it.
You only need to download the full kit DungeonMasterNexusTranslationKit.7z from the provided Onedrive link. It contains everything you need, nothing else to download.
