Hey guys
The Dungeon Master Series are the my favourite games of all times.
But im running into some issues at the RTC_v0.49 CSB version.
I try to reach the Executioner in the KU way but the doors are clsoing way to fast.
So i cant reach the Executiuoner ... i tried lowering the refresh rate of my monitor or do i need to set an FPS limiter via MSI afterburner or soemthing else?
If anyone can help me there lemme know plz .... and i hope this is the right section.
Thx in advance
Return to Chaos CSB runs too fast?

Re: Return to Chaos CSB runs too fast?
If it's the bit I'm thinking of (having recently seen it in a YouTube playthrough which makes it somewhat easier to remember than thinking back several years to whenever I last played it myself
), the pressure plates are right next to the doors, and doors take a second to start closing once you step off them. So you should presumably be able to just step from the plate into the next square (putting you beneath a door), at which point it doesn't really matter how fast the door starts closing, you're only gonna take a hit (or maybe two) to move to the next square and get past the door.

RTC CSB isn't an exact copy of the original game. It's possible the timings of some puzzles are off.

thanx for the reply .... i played both DM and CSB like hundred times ... i know how the puzzles work but the moment i take a step to left from the pressure plate the door is almost closed ... so i cant take a door hit ... i tried everything so farAmeena wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 1:02 pm If it's the bit I'm thinking of (having recently seen it in a YouTube playthrough which makes it somewhat easier to remember than thinking back several years to whenever I last played it myself), the pressure plates are right next to the doors, and doors take a second to start closing once you step off them. CSBWin can be played in a kind of fullscreen mode if I recall. It's been years since I've played it, but I think you need to fiddle with some coordinates in a config file.

Oh I missed that you were using RTC. Okay yeah, RTC was made from scratch to try and get as close as possible to the originals, but there are certainly some differences so maybe that's it. CSBWin is more accurate as it's ported from the Atari version. I'm not sure about the fullscreen thing - CSBWin is the version I use but I've not played it for years now, so I can't remember whether it can go fullscreen or not (and even if it can't, evidently it wasn't a big enough to bother me/be noticeable)
.
