Well I'm confused. Could not find pits where you described them - are you following the maps numbers (00 to 09) or the classical and DMute numbering 1 to 10? Are the coordinates given the same as in DMute?

Suggestions
As a non-programming user I can only say, that every visual help is appreciated with editors, ideally clicking on a tile or function and being able to change all the possible options via scroll-bar or suchlike. Also, extended integrity checks (for instance for cloned objects, pits to nowhere, doors ...

Re: New spells discussion
Actually, I also used them from time to time, especially to find monsters in a certain area, when I knew they had to be somewhere to make sure they did not appear in my back... ;) I did not want to call the spells useless, just maybe less used than others, the point being: as included in the origina...

New spells discussion
I missed last week and pretty much of the discussion about the new spells, so here's my opinion on the subject. First, any changes on the original game are by definition manipulations without the given permission. I do not think, that FTL minds much, but that is another point. Second, personally I d...

Fluxcage
There is no proper german translation for "fluxcage". Flux means power, energy and belongs to physics (magnetism and such), cage should be clear. So the resulting word would be "Kraftkäfig" in german, which is plain stupid - the most appropriate word I can come up with is energy ...

I actually like Gothmog a lot... along with Chani one of my favourite characters, which is why I found the start of Benjamin Prieu's "Enfers" very to my liking... (the rest seems a bit tough to me, but I'll give it some more tries)...

Re: ways to train ur champions
If you try Chaos Strikes Back for Windows ++ (based on Chaos Strikes Back for Windows v3.0) by DjArcas you can see via a cheat menu what xp is awarded for which actions on the different levels.
Although it may not be conclusive for DM, it will give you an idea of what is going on.

I have read them, but unfortunately I cannot answer them by knowledge. I would guess from experience, that lightning is weakened by anti-magic. Personally, I use to combine the party shield with the fire shield for stronger opponents like demons and it seems to decrease the power of the attacks, but...

Re: Maps for DM for PC
Aside from the maps, it would be helpful, if you could specify which level and (at least roughly) which room you refer to, otherwise it's hard to give an answer. Scanning my memory I cannot recall a room that fits your description at the moment, maybe some of the others are more visionary...

I think most people here could get well through the dungeon without maps, notwithstanding some minor errors in tracking. But I still cannot see the point of this spell. Invisibility at least sometimes works (especially well in "Return to Chaos", where every monster I tried the spell on sto...

Re: Questions on level 2
The only point in the game where you need a silver coin is at level 14 to open a door to an altar of rebirth. But since in this level you can find some silver coins scattered on the floor (which should should search after killing the dragon, they're not easy to find), you can as well throw it away. ...

Re: Darkness spell
Hmm you may be right, I checked all the manuals and hint books and the ygave an answer similar to yours... question is: is it worth it? The spell costs a lot of mana and you'll see worse yourself... would depend on the enemies I guess. If it were knights or suchlike I might give it a try!

Darkness spell
Since this is a place for the fanatics (no offence meant, counting myself in), here's a basically useless question, but I'm curious: Has anyone ever used a darkness spell for a certain purpose -besides seeing if it works- and if so on which occasion and what for?

Also very useful if you're short of hit points or mana -although I detested using this spell for a long time- is invisibility. At least in Return to Chaos monsters do not attack you even if you're directly hitting them under their nose. Only problem: wears off very fast even with well-trained magici...

Re: Is it possible to transfer saved characters from DM to C
I asked the question myself only some days ago and was told there is no easy solution. There's a forum entry in the CSB Forum saying you can use DMute but might have problems with the character pictures... and I think someone referred to a complicated way for that task, which was also supposed to ha...
