Just some advance notice, I am going to be AWOL for some time at the end of the moment. Going to a wedding in Spain on the 19th, and pretty much going straight from there to Germany for work, so I won't be back until the 30th.

I am happy for Westian to be auto-piloted as an NPC, or wrapped up safely in cotton wool somewhere until I get back.

Pulled into the lake you say? Sounds good to me :D Well, if I forget closer to time, have fun in spain! What's the work in Germany? Anything interesting?

Anyway, not a problem. Just a reminder I will be distracted from tomorrow evening right onwards until last thing Monday night.

Lol, I will be leaving Westian in one breathing, land-based, piece, I expect the same on my return! :D

A conference in Germany, so fun in that it is a nice city (I hear, I have never been there before) but some actual work because I have the stress of having to give a talk. And I am going to Spain right beforehand, so I will have to polish it off before I leave.

As for the IC thread, no point in me posting at the moment because I will just be repeating, but what do people think about where we should go. Westian will want to go through the crack, but I would like to see the waterfall...

Well good luck!

So Ameena the player and character are vaguely biased towards the waterfall, but happy to go crack or waterfall, Westian wants to go through the crack but OB wants to see the waterfall. I guess Ian has the casting vote! I know Haynuus would probably be a little bit passive (unless he's moving forwards to see Aurek's final resting place) but sounds like Ian's vote will swing it.

I'm guessing Westian will be the driving force in going one way or the other. I'll try to get freed to make an update to get you guys moving again!

Ameena isn't too fussed about where to go right at this moment - she just wants to go somewhere, before some other nasty predator thingy turns up to try and eat them or whatever ;). And she's not too happy about the prospect of Haynuus (or, indeed, anyone) getting closer to the "water", which she's already decided is a Very Bad Thing.

I steered you guys towards the waterfall. Hopefully it should make for an rest of the week (and hopefully make it easy for me to update in free time).

Oh, poot, it's getting late. Raixel, if you are reading this, sorry, I will probably need to update your thread at lunchtime if I can :(

Westian will not be keen to cross anymore narrow, slippery ledges. For obvious reasons. :) Although is the waterfall a dead end? Is there any need to travel across that ledge?

Lol, awww, you don't trust me nor the dice? Probably wise! :D

You lot won't be able to tell if the waterfall is a dead end or not. It is certainly got something behind the waterfall - whether that is just a mini-cavern to relax behind, or whether a crack/path leads onwards might be somethng you can ask the waterfall about. You know, assuming you prove yourself first.

Hey, at least you definitely know Aurek is the one in the waterfall, and he's ok for now. Shame LB didn't get to see his elemental summoning paying off. The flasks were just the 'air/water elements' flasks from level 7 (though thye have a purpose here...) so werne't going to summon elementals to help you with Soorec. Still, I knew I wanted to pay off his speech to those elements, and you guys obligingly went the right way :D

Hey OB, you know that if you say the right things to these elementals, it probably won't matter if you fall into the water again 'cause it'll probably just catch you and put you back on the ledge ;).
Meanwhile, well done Wuffy, you've set off the murafu by putting her into a conversation with two of the things her kind value most highly, given the way they live in the wilds and all that ;).

Lol, not sure I would trust them (or beo). Maybe if the air elementals fly me across I would go. Of course Ameena could scurry across and see if there is anything worth seeing on the other side.

Hey! I wouldn't do that. No, wait, I would totally do that, nm :D

And yeah, Air and Water seemed pitched to be to do with 'life', so that's how they are going to be played.

It might be worth my mentioning that, to someone of Westian's mentality ("Oh mighty High Lord, I serve thee" and all that malarky ;)), it may occur that elemental forces of nature such as these are probably the closest things the Murafu have to religious deities. Of course, the Murafu themselves don't see it as such - not in any kind of religious way. They just kinda live out in the wilds, wherever they can comfortably settle down (and of course come across as primitive etc to "civilised" beings such as humans, who biuld houses and all that), and so are much more in tune with natural occurances than those species who choose to shut themselves away in houses all the time. Things like wind and rain have a much greater significance to those who live outside so much. Of course, murafu will often "construct" dwelings of a kind, perhaps digging burrows or building dirt mounds or using branches or whatever in order to provide some shelter, but in general Nature is in charge, along with the local predators.
As such, Ameena already will already have a huge amount of innate respect for what she sees as being, apparently, a sentient part of the very world in which she, and everything else, lives. And, as you may have noticed, since things like ponds and air currents don't normally tend to provide much by way of conversation, she has almost literally leapt upon this opportunity to try and find out what it's like to be Air and Water. As noted in the IC, after all this stuff like scary mages, undead critters, and other such nasties, suddenly being faced by something as simple-seeming as the power of Water and of Air seems thankfully familiar and she welcomes it. If she didn't know there was some kind of really important job that needed doing here underground (even though she can't remember exactly what it is), she'd probably by now have asked the elementals if they could give the group a boost up the chimney and help her get out of the dungeon ;).
I wonder if the Snake Staff will be of any use here - it's imbued with some kind of Nature power, after all. Maybe showing it to the elementals might trigger some kind of reaction? Of course, I suppose we first have to wait and see how they react to what people have just been saying to them...

Uhuh, do you want a rushed update, or do you want no update at all :p I'll correct it if I get a chance to do this one, got a lot to pack in with limited mental concentration/time :(

Back from London, but given the time of posting, you can probably guess no update until tomorrow evening unless I luck the chance for a lunchtime update.

Ameena, you didn't indicate if Ameena was going to offer to shed her weapons, offer a reason not to shed weapons, hide her weapons, or hadn't thought shedding weapons applied to her. Even if Ameena the character doesn't think about it, you the player know I needed an in or out on the weapons! :)

Actually, I thought about the wep-dropping (that's wep singular, btw - she only has the one knife and that's it...unless you're referring to her teeth ;)) when I started the post, but by the end of it I'd distracted myself enough to forget (which happens a lot ;). I did think about it afterwards, but figured that Ameena's said enough for now and that she probably distracted herself anyway.

Fire! Way to annoy the elementals :) Nah, I think you'll be fine. So will Ameena probably, due to the volume of words. As for clubs, I thought Westian had multiple clubs from the original fight? Maybe they got ditched when he had a real weapon? :)

Maybe he did, I only had one down on my character sheet though. If he has any he will drop them anyway, no point upsetting the elementals and he can always find more.

Good to have you back, but now it is my turn to disappear. :( Flying in the morning, I won't be back until Monday 30th. Don't forget about the whole "wrapping in cotton wool" agreement. If I come back and Westian is an undead servant of Chaos I will not be happy! :)

But seriously just take control until I re-appear.

Ah, time's running away with us! Can't believe we are that deep into August. Well, if you read this, enjoy your globetrotting and good luck with the speech!

Westian will be wrapped in cotton wool until he can't breath, and will be left to rot instead of ressurected or anything. Check!
