Dungeon Master Encyclopaedia feedback

Since they revamped the website it is much harder to find the downloads (or most of the things I'm actually trying to find. Why couldn't they leave well enough alone? It was awesome for 25 years, why did they have to ruin it updating for updating sake just because it looked "dated"? The game itself is dated), but you can still download various versions from here

slickrcbd: I went to that site and didn't see any way to download DM2: Stonekeep.

Is it downloadable?

I'm not sure it's any harder than it was before to find downloads on dmweb.free.fr. You go to the page of the edition you want, and scroll down to find the Downloads section, for example: http://dmweb.free.fr/games/dungeon-mast ... ons/amiga/

Having said that, it is quite hard to find things on there by browsing. I find the search is better. Make sure you put your search term in quotes, otherwise you'll match too many results. For example "amiga download" gives me 7 results.

You can find things on the Dungeon Master Encyclopaedia by:
  • Browsing the site using the menus,
  • Using tags (link on top of all pages):
For example the Downloads tag has a list of all pages containing downloads, including DM2 Skullkeep for all platforms
  • Using the built-in search engine on the site (link on top of all pages)
  • Using Google. Enter this kind of search string to focus your search on dmweb: dungeon master 2 pc site:dmweb.free.fr
On the bottom left of the home page, you have a preview of the last few pages added, and links to the full list of pages and files in reverse chronological order so you can find the latest additions.
The Magazines pages shows a list of all magazine scans in a filterable table.

Please tell me what I should improve, I'm open to good suggestions. The site has grown quite large over the last 26 years: 570 pages of content (excluding tags and listings of other pages) and 12020 files (downloads, images, music, etc.) as of today.

I'm not a fan of the AI art thumbnails used throughout. They don't really add anything useful, in fact I find them quite confusing and they kind of get in the way. Plus, theyre AI, so you know, not great and it kind of makes things look a bit second rate. Especially since people are getting wise to what genAI really is, and they're now rejecting it and works associated with it.

I'd suggest that these thumbnails should be an example of whatever they're guiding the user to: so if it's a Maps section, then use a thumbnail of a relevant map. (I appreciate this makes managing the content a bit harder, but I think it would be a lot more useful than arbitrary/generic thumbnails.)

That is quite incredible! I still find it amazing you can host all that for free!

I've only been on the new version of the Encyclopaedia a couple of times but it did seem more difficult to find anything, as the categories/sections didn't seem quite so obviously-labelled any more, from what I can remember.
