[Done for V0.38] DM2 wallsets in RTC

Post by The Journeyman »

Hi fellas
I'm fiddling around with the long awaited editor, we've all dreamd off since ..decades. Am trying to see what's possible with the newly possible DM2 graphic extraction tools. here is the first result and also the problem:

DM2 uses overlapping wall graphics and does wonders with transparent ( pink ) parts, so that the dungeon doesnt look edgy:
the problem is the overlapping, though....although RTC actually aces that feauture, it refuses to save the module, cause it sees that the graphics are bigger in height & width.

i'm very excited, though, to see RTC being capable of that already *bows to GG*

Could you make it possible to override the error detection?

P.S. doesnt that cave look sweet?
I'm gonna sleep in the rat room.

This is something that is already fixed for V0.29 so you'll be able to get this effect then.

This bug (feature) and many others have been brought up several times -- it's worth rooting around in this and bugs forum to see what's already been reported.

Great to see the transparency working on walls -- I never got around to trying it, and as it works so well it negates the 'bandage' idea that Cow and I discussed. It does mean a lot more care has to be taken over how they overlap, but clearly it's possible. Great!

Man, V0.29's gonna be so cool. It's just a shame there's not more custom dungeons for RTC. Hmm, I have an idea...

Which extraction tool did you use btw?

DM2AE (DM2 Another Extractor) by Kentaro.k-21...works like a charm! ( but needs the ~20mbyte Microsoft .Net Framework )

Thanks, that's one damn good tool, especially as it extracts sound and text as well no more ripping from WinUAE for me!

This now works in V0.38 (and probably has done for a few versions before that!)
