*bites suit* curse those merchants, they just gave me a tinfoil jacket! That's not very futuristic...

Do you have a shirt that says "I went to Saturn and all I got was this lousy T-shirt"?

Now, do I look like a tourist to you? Saturn is my home, I don't need a T-shirt stating that I was there.
But if you are really really non-human like, I might invite you one day to come and visit me. I can send you my shuttle... 8)

I'm fairly human last time I checked, so I guess that's out of the question. Although I hear Alpha Centauri IV's alright. And I'm not going to Mars, I read bad things about what goes on there. I don't really know much more than that in Sol or nearby systems. Although I have an idea for a solar-wide terraforming project for Venus, Mars, Ganymede, Callisto, and Titan concurrently...

Anyway, Sonja is a good character, her only weakness is anti-fire but I suppose that could be fixed in CSB importing her with flaimbain on. Overall, better fighting stats than Stamm. Stamina is very good too, so she doesn't get tired like Gothmog and Wu Tse do. I got her to where she can use the heaviest equipment and carry stuff without going into the yellow for weight management. Her attacks still suck right now but some fighter training should take care of that... Inquisitor... berserk... door... water elemental from behind...

Other than that, Stamm and Gothmog are cool too. Stamm's nearly 80 in vitality and anti-fire now with more stamina than health, only weakness is wisdom, Gothmog's only weakness is vitality and stamina. I'm also somewhat displeased with my Wu Tse; she never gets much stamina, she's weak in vitality and anti-fire, and I could have probably substituted Chani for better magic stats and stamina.

I usually don't use other characters too much; these four in particular are used to relive the nostalgia. It's also tough rolling for the best stats each level, especially the priest on odd levels getting 1 wisdon, 1 vitality, 2 anti-magic, 1 anti-fire.

I usually play 4-char parties, but I'm considering a solo now that the damage resistance is fixed in CSB. I like my fighters strong enough to use the heaviest equipment and carry some more and the back guys have some advantage in spellcasting/magic resistance.

Just a small note -- please don't quote other users if you are replying directly to the last posting -- it adds unnecessary text in the database. I regularly delete redundant quotes and have done here. Thanks.

I always take aroc solo in CSB...his only weakness seems to be wisodm for mana regeneration, but if you have the food, which in CSB you do, then really he's a good fighter with lotsa mana!

i must admit for solo i much prefer fighters with high health and strength over mages - at the end of the day you can pretty much whack most things into submission given the right tools, whereas magic is an expensive mistress and if you've traded off halth to get it you are always runnign scared

You are absolutely right, Gambit. And I apologise for those times I copied the person's text I am responding to. :)

And since I now got that hot tip regarding the mana problem, I think I will start again with Sonja and Leyla - just love those two girls. :D

And I will let them use war cries so often that in the end they get a sore throat. LOL

Wuuf is the man. Because he has a potion bottle, and when I first played it I was too scared to get far into the game (I was only ickle), so I often didn't find the first bunch of potion bottles.

I like Stamm because of his axe.

I always used to choose Tiggy first (who I still think is a guy ;p) because he had super mana and I like wizards.

Zed was always a popular choice for me too. I never liked gothmog.

Wow, Tiggy as a guy? I'm not sure how you figured that one. I suppose that unlike the rest of the girls, she doesn't have a large, visible chest, but I always thought she looked very female...

LOL Same here. Tiggy a guy indeed. Just because she looks more like a wee girl than a busty woman. LOL

I never understood how anyone could see Tiggy as a boy -- we had a whole thread about that some time ago. It's bizarre!

I always thought of Tiggy as a fairychild rather than a champion. She looks just like a cute little girl. :)

I always thought of her as a small female version of the Fair Folk ... some kind of dwarf/gnome/what-have-you. I thought she was full-grown, just small. Now I think she's either a gnome or a halfling or something ... but she's really adorable, yes.

Adorable but also with a tough side - until i got bored i found it surprisingly easy to push her through the first level of DM!

Hasn't some loony person on the forum soloed with Tiggy before, all the way through the dungeon? It's almost unthinkable but given that people can beat CSB in 15 minutes or whatever the crazy record is now, I wouldn't be too surprised...

Soloing Tiggy would be interesting... I'd almost want to take that up, but I haven't beaten CSB yet... I keep forgetting about it.

eh, it's not particularly challenging actually...i used to take her, but dropped her as i liked boris for his stamina and health better than toggy...but solo, you start gaining ninja and fighter levels right away, and once you have a certain level of stats, that's about it
low strength just requires you to grin and bear hackign away longer...another reason why i dind't carry on : )

Remember the Tiggy challenge that myself and Paul Stevens did? Where you could only carry one object? That was hard

its odd, i went back and played with tiggy a little on pc dm (got bored again on level three, sooooooo slow at using a weapon, too tempting to punch) and i noticed that spellcasting was more successful than in CSBwin...odd...i thought the atari -> PC code had been copied straight

I would say Zed! He was the hero
I do remember Stamm being the hero sometimes too!
Mophus was awesome too, he really levels up nice in the back row of the party.
- DM/Archon fan -
Real Life is too realistic! It's boring!

quick note - my tiggy csbwin adventure was harder because for some reason dm rules didn't apply to reincarnation automatically! oops! i mustn't have upgraded my dungeon.dat! no wonder two a screamers killed me with one double blow!

never really given mophus a fair shake, but i agree ith the other two : )

ive always used hissssa, and ive always gone with a solo character in all dm games, that means hissssa again for CSB and torham for DM2 (would have preferred going solo with equus, but cant), i seem to find it easier going solo than going with all 4 chars

I would use different characters if it wasn't for the fact that some of them are really ugly. LOL I go by looks when I choose my champions. I don't want to keep looking at an ugly creature each time I open their status box.

Same here about Alex

For the record I think Mophus is a pretty good character despite his looks.
