Hi and welcome :)

I guess you are referring to the room of King Filius with the little, hidden switches? As far as i recall I had no real problem opening the movable wall to get the iron key. Did you push all four buttons?

If that is indeed where you're stuck, if I remember rightly I just get it these days by running round pressing them all in random order till the wall opens :).

If you imagine each one like a toggle switch, even though there is no visible indication of it. There are only two buttons you need to press - I beleive the two on the right of the room. Just keep pressing them, keeping in mind the toggling effect - there are only 16 combinations to try, as long as you keep track of which button you have pressed

You have to try the combinations, but in my games one of the combinations 1-2-3-4. 1-3-2-4. 1,-4-2-3. 1-2-4-3, 1-3-4-2 or 1-4-3-2 was correct (1 is the fist switch on the left side when you enter the room, 4 the last one on the right side)

Foud it, it is the left most two buttons as you enter the room (one at the back of the left corner, and one on the right hand side of the back wall, the left one of two in a recess
Press them once each and the wall opens without you haveing to press millions of buttons a million times : )

press millions of buttons a million times
That seems a bit excessive. After eleven random
presses you have 51 percent chance of opening the wall.
After 22 presses a 75 perent chance. After 33 presses
an 87 percent chance. After 44, 93 percent. After 100
presses a 99.9984 percent chance. My pocket calculator
won't do a million without a bit of mental legerdemain.

LOL! Show off...
And really, 16 combinations of presses of a non random nature will guarantee 100% success in the end : )

The same pocket calculator says that 15 individual (not
combinations) presses will always suffice.

I never understood that room. It speaks of combinations, but just hit the switches once each in any order and it does the trick, not really a challenge or a combination problem..

t is combinations, you have to have the and/or gate targetted by the four switches in a certain state, each switch toggles the state, and you have to have all four switches making the and/or gate 'on' - that 'once eahc in any order' isn't right, that doens't free the room - i think you must do it left to right and solve it without realising ....
