Sorry for the confusion, I meant for the hint to be for how you find the scroll and the spell is to open the Throben doors.

'5' guild leader endings? Does the cursed guild have its own ending?

Well, I didn't find the scroll, but since you gave a clue on how to open the doors, I just tried a few things...

I don't know, I suppose the maleficient guild has an ending...
(taking over the army of balrogs seemed quite maleficient to me)

Joramund wrote: Same here : are you talking about levitation or the spells that opens the throben doors ?
As far as I know, there is no levitation spell in conflux. There are a couple of times I've wanted to use it, so let me know if I'm wrong...
Joramund wrote: Makes me think : Among the 7 endings, I suppose that 5 are guild leaders ending, and 2 are "normal" endings ?
Or are the 5 guilds endings an addition, making the total a daunting 12 different endings ?
I guess 12? There are definitely more than two "normal" endings... there must be at least four, which I think go with the four 10-point scores in the competition, and then the 4 guild leader endings go with the 15-point scores, with apparently no points for malificent.
Joramund wrote: (taking over the army of balrogs seemed quite maleficient to me)
No, that's Gothmog's ending.

The maleficient ending must be secret, since anyway no one was crazy enough to finish it or even advance far with the maleficient guild yet.

I suppose that the starting hp of the maleficient members is a real stopper...
Since I want to start over with them, I'll probably need to find a vi altar very fast... I don't remember which is the easiest one to reach.

I don't use VI altars, but the closest one I can think of is in the cellar, close to the door of answers, which incidentally has never provided me with any answers, just one big question: can it be opened?
Joramund wrote:Inanity : return to the zoooom area, and exit the loop in the demon area. If you've already killed them, it's the area with the portcullis and a way open on each side. There you'll find an area with water elementals.
Odds are you didn't do everything you could there.
You're talking about the room with the two teleporters and an eye of xanathar, right? I did get farther than before by falling down a pit I hadn't tried, but I'm still stuck by another pit, next to the door that opens on a blank wall and the spider generator. And I can get to two different sides of a particular teleporter, but not the 3rd side... can i get a hint? I don't see any water elementals, but I can hear some through the wall from the level below. It's possible I already killed some here, but I don't remember.

Don't go to the spider pit.
There is a teleporter, to a room with lots of teleporters appearing and sweeping the room, with water elementals...
You must go along the wall as fast as possible to reach other exits before the teleporters catch you and put you into the central pit.

The good exits is a big room with demon faces.

Hem, a blue haze sorry. The teleporter is one of those you mention, it should be just on your left, and forbids you from going back the demon room.

EDIT: This conflux conversation could probably be better on Flash Chat...

And it would avoid the total spoiler for beginners that it has become !

Yeah, blue haze, teleporter, same thing, but it doesn't teleport me anywhere.

Just come on FC, I'll explain more clearly !

You should go into the water elemental and green-ground room just in front of you, and follow along the wall until you find the exit I'm speaking about !

There are four guild master endings, and then three regular endings, as described in the competition document. In addition, there should be the Maleficient guild ending (I don't know, I haven't played it.) and there is at least one more ending, that I think you're not supposed to be able to get anymore.

Snichele:
"Ok, well... but what can you "dry" exactly ?"
What have you tried? If I tell you what I have found, you will know what I know. If you try on your own, you may learn something I missed.

"So there is another way to climb down the stairs that lead to the dragon and the tower and Mampang without 4 characters ??? "
No, there is a way to come from the other side with less than four characters. So you can access the guild endings by walking up the stairs, but you won't be able to get back to the emerald level because of the block. Finding ways around the blocks is fun, but it makes for convoluted routes...

"I'm sorry but I don't get the point ? What's the matter with halk and the fact that items appeards after ?"
If you clear most of the dungeon before you pick him you will have to go again all over the place in previously explored area, tracking his quests items and not knowing whether you're even looking in the generally correct area. Very frustrating.

"To dig the question : once I will be ready to try the guild leaders ending, what advice can you give me : which guild leader must I try in priority for the quality of his quest ?"
Mophus has the longest ending and the most scenery. It's actually fairly epic. It's a tough one too. Oh, and it has several truly unique monsters.
Gothmog has the most atmospheric and the toughest ending, imho.
Leyla has what I consider to be THE coolest monster in Conflux, because it's not even technically a monster. Some cool unique items if you can find them and an otherwise unimpressive ending. May also contain a hint for a little known bonus area.
Halk has a tough ending, combat-wise, but hey, he's the fighter so you should expect as much. It's also a long fetch quest. I have yet to complete it.

"And once I will have choosen one, will I have to explore the full dungeon again to discover the special parts ?"
The guild leaders have all their endings nicely stacked in the stairs beyond your "green nightmare". Some other characters, however...

As for the door requiring proof of answers, is there somewhere else that requires you to be intelligent?

I still can't figure out how to get to Xanathar... Joramund says there is a teleporter near the b-door area that can be turned off by a button in the zoom area, but I can only find 2 buttons in the zoom area, neither of which affect the teleporter.

Zyx, there isn't a problem with my savegame, is there?

Zoooming for next a quest now !! (71 points, without the kill all Council Member ending... so potentially 81)

I can't find the balrog in the Moria...
The first hall is very crowded, so it is rather difficult to navigate around there...
Other than that and the underwater level, I don't see anything else remaining to do with the four guides.

So I'll start over with a new party and the last version !

Joramund, every time I see one of your messages I get this subliminal thing where I can't get that "bright side of life" song out of my head....

If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten! And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing!

Bonjour à tous / Hello all,

i discovered this game a few days ago and its by far the best sequel man can do to DM/CSB...

i'm newb in the game (one black night / nuit blanche) and i can't read the entire thread. Got some questions too :

1) What is the spell "treasure detection" for ?

2) In the cellar there's a "door of answer", i see throught it and there is some corbum behind - how can i open this door ?

3) the ZO speel was supposed to open door but it only make me a sound... this speel must be activated or what ? i really need it...

4) the VI potion is no more (my heroes must always practice more for this potion...) ? i can make it with VI GOR but... is it normal ?

5) i got map password of sewers and mines (great art work !)... can't find cellar and temple one, any advice ?

6) in the cellar there's a ring iaido wanted... i can't even find a way to get it... maybe some help ?

7) in a first attempt i got the wand in a temple cave (i climb a pit) - i can't find anymore this pit with my new team... is there something i forgot ?

8) when i use the hint, does it something "bad" to the game i'm playing ?

And at last but not least : thanks Zyx for this game, i enjoyed it !

(Sorry for my bad english)

1) What is the spell "treasure detection" for ?

It detects treasure :D Each level has one, the main one in the dwarf mine. Find the item, unlock the spell, and it will give you the direction of the tresure frm your position

2) In the cellar there's a "door of answer", i see throught it and there is some corbum behind - how can i open this door ?

You must provide answers to someplace relatively close who has none

3) the ZO speel was supposed to open door but it only make me a sound... this speel must be activated or what ? i really need it...

The zo spell is no longer a door opening spell - the rune of zo has changed its meaning. Casting zo is actually a bad idea - when you have high enough priest levels, you might see why! The door opening spell is hidden in the topmost levels of conflux. You don't need it early in the game and can come back for it, if you really, really feel you want to have it then perhaps someone can PM you the spell.

4) the VI potion is no more (my heroes must always practice more for this potion...) ? i can make it with ----- but... is it normal ?

Yes. Just a fun little quirk of conflux, some of the spells have been changed to make the game a challenge. There is an obvious way to realise the change of spell early on if you find the right decoration

5) i got map password of sewers and mines (great art work !)... can't find cellar and temple one, any advice ?

They are all hidden - the serwers and temple ones are better hidden. Open all the doors and explore all the pits is usually good advice for conflux anyway. This might be good advice for the maps too (won't tell you which level is which!

6) in the cellar there's a ring iaido wanted... i can't even find a way to get it... maybe some help ?

This is a sneaky puzzle. If you have opened the first door, then you can solve the puzzle...but it's really sneaky!

7) in a first attempt i got the wand in a temple cave (i climb a pit) - i can't find anymore this pit with my new team... is there something i forgot ?

Yes, you are closing access off to it. There is a map on the sewer levl that tells you how to make sure you do not close the way. If you walk in the sewers, you can infact hear the pit way being closed off with the sound up!

8) when i use the hint, does it something "bad" to the game i'm playing ?

Nope, it's just a hint. I take it you realise you can keep two CSBwin windows open so you can have your hints and game simultaneously?

I'm stuck in the relicuary (Leyla's ending), at the "Strong Quick and Rich" puzzle. Solving the puzzle seems to be the only way out of this particular area -- I guess I got here by falling down a pit or something.

Anyway, I can get to the wall that says "shoot" but I can't experiment anymore with shooting because I threw my only crossbow over the pit... Do I need something that shoots in order to solve the puzzle :?: :?: If so, then I truly am stuck and will have to see about loading an old savegame...

Edit: I got my crossbow back and I think I solved the puzzle, but I'm still in a dead-end :?: :?: :?:

Ah, I found the upper armoury :D

But I still can't find the Balrog... Shouldn't he be in the entrance hall of the Moria ?
I managed to empty the hall for a while (but orks keep reappearing, it's just annoying...) and I saw no sign of the Balrog...

Well, unless he was telefragged, I don't see how he would be dead, as I cleaned up the room with MON poison clouds and LO fireballs...

BTW : I always thought that the scroll giving an advice about where you should and shouldn't step was a red herring...
