As far as I know you can get to each ending (apart fro mthe guild leaders) independantly. You should be able to escape the council chambers instead of taking the stairwell to the ending, and carry on as before

im little bit unhappy cause of my choosen party members (its my first try playing conflux):
gando leif hissa syra
especially gando and leif are get on my nerves, i dont like them.
after playing for some hours i start to understand SLOWLY the game. thats why i want to restard just with one char (or tow^^)...but theres a problem for me:
since i play dm i used to play 2 caster, 2 warrior.
i take caster/warrior/warrior/caster cause i want to have the warrior`s hands in the middle.
that mean i have to start with gando or zed (omg, his stats sucks a lot)...i think its not funny to start with one of them? dont know how to handle. first mace i could get from a rat in the wine cellar and now i dont know how to get the items i need with this kind of weak chars. and also i dont know how to unlock just one of the guilds to take the leader...with my bad english i think warrior want to have a axe and wizard a scroll or something like that....
aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i want to have good chars ;)))

edit: hmh now i take zed the noobi cause he have the nicest horn ...hehe...i thought monsters go back if i use it in front?

I think you have correctly got the riddles that others have scratched their heads over!

To answer an earlier question -

if you click on walls, I think rarely you can find ninja stars, or at least gain ninja experiences
The horn has varying success depending on level of caster, keep trying!

i know this way at the sewers, finding daggers...(maybe their for later to get the axe), but dont realize at other places it works...

The axe is a tricky one - to be honest the place I used to get it is no longer correct. If you get to the mines, there is a trader I believe...

my only little char now are wounded at his feets...
i think i have a big journey to get the bottle to heal him...
what could i do? hes very slow with his feeds

I ran a whole game with Zed only and by the end he was absolutely monstruous. There are, maybe, 5 monster types in the entire dungeon that can take him head on and have a chance to live. Dragons are not on the list.

My point is, don't worry about the starting stats. By the endgame, your leveled character will be able to stand his or her ground with ease.

As for your question about wounded feet, there is supposedly a trick to heal wounds even wothout a flask, but it may be a red herring. The hint is in the Temple. I have to say it never worked for me, and I'm not even sure it would work for feet. If you don't have the patience to move at reduced speed, just reload an earlier save. You did keep an earlier save, right?

yes i saved...but it was old one...
other point: at wine cellar there a point with a pit over my head and the game tells me to go outside with the robe i have...but its only to go down with it...?

Lai, If you use the rope to activate something on the wall, you might be able to climb up.

Heh, well, it's a way out...it infact triggers one of the easiest endings to find.

I would advise you to save your game before you attempt to see it though :twisted:

Well, you have to choose. You can accept your mistakes, save once in a while or only when you're done for the day, and then you tell the character to shut up about the bloody feet already and walk, or you can save every three seconds, use all four save positions for the same party (position1 reserved for the "home safe" save before every raid) and commit suicide/reload anytime things don't turn out perfect. I use the latter. It may be unsportsmanlike, but you won't hear me complaining of sore feet.

Hi there, I've just been wondering when a new version of Conflux III will be released which fixes the known bugs? Especially the fizzing spell bug and the scorching whip plus dragon armour not counting points. I'm waiting for this, then I plan to start a new game.

In the mean time I have a bunch for questions I've slowly built up about Conflux, any help appreciated!

1. Is it possible to find lockpicks, boots of speed or a bone doll with out choosing new guild members?
2. According to my map of the guilds, there is a removable wall in the NE area that leads to stairs that lead to the cellar, how do I open this?
3. Where are the maps for the tower of mampang and the emerald forest? I have doen these areas but haven't found the maps.
4. Apparently it is possible to get to all four guild ending in one game, how?
5. In the central room in the iron temple, there is a door with an eye lock beside it, was is needed to open it? I think it was a magnifier in Conflux II but i haven't found one yet.
6. At the fur trader there is a third eye lock, what activates it and does it let you get to him?
7. In the crypt what are you supposed to do in the altars of love and rose?
8. In the crypt there is a gold key lock and text on the wall saying "new lives for old bones", but nothing seems to happen when i put a gold key in the lock, what happens? Does this activate the death characters on the crypt level?
9. Can the cruel pit be done with one character?
10. Near the tower of mapang there is some stairs down into an area with with long halls ways and unseen teleporters, i have mapped this area but some areas remain inaccessable, I think i need to force a death knight backwards to a pressure pad but don't know how i can do this, any hints? I remember solving this in Conflux II, annoyingly, and I think the Dragon Shield is here.
11.On the spider level, what is this about? "For each person awaits a door he shall never pass where stands a guardian who's sole purpose is to forbid the path linked to his life, dying with the last whisper of the wisher"
12. What are you supposed to do in the torture chamber?
13. On the council level, behind the commander is a door to a teleport to the officers canteens, how do you open this?
14. There is a door next to the officers canteens with no way to open it, how do you open it?
15. Are the guardians of the white chambers invincible?
16. How do you open the door to the east half way down the white chambers?
17. On the emerald level, upstairs from one of the sudden death exits, there is an area called the room of illusions, how do you open the second portcullis in this area? Even though it seems i can already reach the other side...
18. How do you reach the clockwork maze?
19. In Moria on level 14, in the NE there is an area of pits, how do you get to this area? It's also next to where you find a ruby key, I remember i was able to get there in conflux II.
20. In Moria on level 14 there is a bridge with a pit blocking it and a switch that doesn't work, how do you cross this bridge? I also remember crossing this in conflux II, something like putting a branch and a rope in the lever, but that doesn't work in conflux III.
21. In the emerald forest at the secret stairs, a teleporter can be seen, if you're on the stairs facing outwards, it would be to your right, can you reach this teleporter?
22. In the crypt at 05,25,03 there is a green switch, what does this do? It's behind a fake wall and you get teleported here from moria.
23. How do I get the funeral thorn? It popped up in a new game on a thief I killed in the sewers, does this mean in my old game it's just lying around somewhere...I can't find it.
24. Someone told me there were 63 levels, What!?!? Is this true? I've found 26 but some of them are virtually empty.
25. Air activated teleport scrolls, do they do anything other than teleport you to the water level. P.S. I hate this level.
26. The pit and switch puzzle in Xanathar's place, do you only get a mage staff for this? There is a couple of pits i can't get behind.
27. The gardening challenge, I still can't figure this out...
28. In the big X, what is the leftovers coin slot for?
29. By passing through hell, you can get a certificate of innocence, so shouldn't this give you a competition point? An extremely hard point to get.
30. What are all the secret characters in the crypt for? They don't have any items and don't seem to do anything special.

I still haven't done any guild endings or most of the water level, and I'm sure there is a bunch of areas I haven't found as well. But I think I know how to get all of the competition points, except maybe a teleportation scroll, according to Paralax's list.

These are (advanced) questions, most of them probably fitting in the "leftover secrets" (*winkwinknudgenudge*) area. Nothing someone like me, playing it for 3-4 weeks now, could answer.

They could also be added to the FAQ. I'm hoping to give the list a true start on WE. (I'm -very- busy atm, this will be another 70 hours week :? )

Frankly I can answer just a few of them:

5. hehe. Not that complicated. Think back what was needed in DM on level 3 in the guardian room.

6. The eye is for trading furs for food. You can't get to him other than destroying the wooden thing, but this makes him angry and you can't trade anymore then.

8. I guess hard you're right about that!

22. It closes the PITD on this level?

Nope, these are character specific items, that trigger character specific events I'm afraid

It's a way back from one of the deeper levels, either the temple or one of the council stairs or something. More important is activating the lift : D

Really??? Are you sure? Who said this - unless it came from zyx himself I would doubt it, or assume it is through an accidental item placement that is now blocked

Last time I played, the altar of the rose was just a combat area with a rose for fun. It might have advanced since then. In the altar of love,

you are supposed to get married! So try not to kill the bride! Deliver 'her' to the correct place.

There are two locks, each lock activates one set of champions. Of course, you can activate the champions individually with bones instead at the mirror

It's a good metaphysical riddle - I'm trying to remember if that's the one you walk backwards away from to solve

I think it's as simple as a corbum in the right wall decratin close by, or you confront and click on one of the grey councillors behind their doors. Something like that

It is probabaly the way from the back from one of the other areas like the retirement room or deeper in the mines or something.

15. Are the guardians of the white chambers invincible?

The white councillors themselves (lord orders) are invincible last time I played, but the lower counciloors (vexirks) are not of course

16. How do you open the door to the east half way down the white chambers?

Corbum like all the rest I think

Hmm, been a while since I went in to here - I seem to recall something tricksey like you don't need to go through it you go the other way, or you can walk around it, or something

19. In Moria on level 14, in the NE there is an area of pits, how do you get to this area? It's also next to where you find a ruby key, I remember i was able to get there in conflux II.

The ruby key was on the other side of the bridge (the puzzle form Paul's tower of chaos). I think you have to push a wall item to open a false wall, or walk through an invisible wall to get that way. Thoguh I also recall coming from the other way

Oops, that's the one - it's a club you need I think.

If it's the area I think it is, that's reserved for the malificent guild

I believe that is attached to halk's ending

I think it is dropped by a tree then - I thought it was on he spiked dragon!

CSBwin can accomodate 63 levels, and the dungeon.dat might have been expanded to this, people might have thought that each area was a new level, when infact conflux is the most densely packed dungeon I've ever seen. Yeah CSB, I'm even taking you into account.

25. Air activated teleport scrolls, do they do anything other than teleport you to the water level. P.S. I hate this level.

Air scrolls teleport you whereever you have set your anchor spell. I assume the initial destination, or the place you tried this spell, was the water level

When a stone mushromm decays, it leaves dust, that grows into a mushroom. This can drift across eventually. I think the snapdragon has a similar behaviour with the seeds. You just throw an item across at the other side, then come back much later and it should have progressed across!

Must be a bug. Then again, you surely only get one point for the one you get properly by being innocent, right?

Atmosphere. I think they had slightly better stats that the middling guild guys.

i cannot open the wizard guild door with it ...:(

aah..plasma are zo kath ra...i need corbums..

Otherwise, yes you will need corbums I am afraid!

3: Free the cartographer guild in the Dragon Den. Then fight them in the sewers.
10: Check some of your magical weapons for priest-like abilities.
12: Get the items in the alcoves, and go down a pit if you want.
14: It is opened by a special item but the item needs to be placed in a different area on the Councel level (with several Lords behind Ra doors) which will open another closed door with a teleporter that telports you to the door you are referring to.
15: No. Try several Mon Fireballs
18: If it's what I think it is, you've already been there (Dragon Shield Area?).
23: It is dropped by a Tree beside Pit D.

Oh. Bugfix III is still "the way of the Warrior"? Meh, good thing I only started anew game last night. I'll wait too, then.

Boots of speed: Not unique, but you need the Character to get more. The others, unique.

If the bug hasn't been fixed since 'Competition', you can enter the fighter ending from the trial under some special circumstances. It's useless, since you won't be able to complete it, and you won't be able to get out either. Like I said, it's a bug.

9. Can the cruel pit be done with one character?
I think so, if you can find what you need somewhere else...

They're not. Try harder.

You just take the correct set of stairs. I don't recall this area being locked in any way... Maybe you have to bash a wooden door?

If you map the area you'll see it's the teleporter you took to enter. :)
It stays active in the antechamber until you get teleported back.

It closes a pit nearby, that may or may not be pitD, I don't have the map with me at the moment.

Someone lied to you. There must be around 30 total, but it's hard to locate all the 'off' areas exactly (altars and priest ending in particular.)

I think so. I recall the rewards being pretty lame, in any case.

You get a point for surviving the trial, not proving your innocence. If you don't go through the trial ("PROBABLY GUILTY, SHALL PROVE INNOCENCE") you don't get the point.

i really want to know how could i pick up the fighter leader...
i only have found 2 maces, both near sar wine (one dropt from killing, one are from altar between nearly sar wine storage/only the strong...)
i played zed single and got more and more problems ^^
same with ninja, here i have only 1 star found, from "only the strong)

There is at least one more mace upstairs from the cellar by the KATH vinegars, thoughyou need to be strong already to get it

at this time im have take the kath vinegar but i cant handle the spiders... the moving pits with those strong thief kill me a lot...
my char is trained all craftsman only ninja are still journeymen, cause i cant find the area where i have to pick up stars from wall

edit:
at the place where KATh are i try to use invisiblity, use the switch to brak the door...dont work...
second way with moving pits i try to kill this damned thief but my spells are to weak. i try also to escape with using my robe

maybe cause i reload, one or two times?^^

Nah, there are just huge DSAs going on in the background - just accept it and move on!

And hmm, I think you've gone deep for the KATH vinegars, when there is a huge stash at the very top of the level

now i have open fighter,wizard and priest guild to the point, next step are special item... i really want to hear what i need...i have just no ideas

A couple more questions:

1. How many funeral items are there? I have six, two rings, axe, rapier, thorn and dagger.
2. How many flasks are there? I have five.
3. How many air teleport scrolls are there? I have four.
4. My previous question two about the removable wall I can't remove on level 00, it's at location 00,18,03.
5. Where is the dragon den where this cartographer guild is? Sounds cool, but I don't think I've found it.
6. Previous 16. How do you open the door on the east half way down the white chambers? It's location is 07,06,09.
7. Previous 19. In Moria on level 14, in the NE there is an area of pits, how do you get to this area? It's location is 14,30,01, I still can't get to this area.
8. Previous 20. In Moria on level 14 there is a bridge with a pit blocking it and a switch that doesn't work, how do you cross this bridge? It's location is 14,10,25. The club didn't work, neither do a branch or a rope.
9. Also, where are the maps codes for the clockwork maze and the dragon's lair? I guessed the dragon lair code, are they with this cartographer guild?
10. How cerberi are there? I've found 3.
11. How many pieces of dragon armour are there? I've found 4 but I know where a 5th is.
12. What are the deathtrap levels and how do you reach them?
