[Done for V0.38] Monster sheild

Post by cowsmanaut »

I was just reading Kaspians suggestion and thought.. how about blocking monsters from getting hit untill you want them to? I suppose in some cases you set a up a wall graphic that looks like them but.. I'm thinking more along a genera line. Where you can make a monster invincible for a short period of time.. say untill the pull a switch or put ina gem or whatever is required and either A. they come to life and you can start killing them (Ie a living statues) or B. they already have been chasing you and now you can kill them with the "spell" broken..

yeah, I think it makes sence.. so I wasn't sure if it wasn't already possible. I mean you make a monster... say, in the case of the living statue. If someone knows or suspects it's a monster that's just not moving.. then they will attack it before you activate it.. thus the challenge is lost. or the scare you had prepared.

The addition to this is things like the guards in DM2. They sat there doing nothing untill you attacked them or the shopkeeper and then went into action.

things like that.

Sounds like a great idea... you might create a puzzle having an invincible monster chasing you until you still its life force trapped in some coin or gem somewhere else in the level which then makes it killable...

This can now all be done using CONVERT actions.
